The Hausa are one of the largest ethnic groups in Africa, located primarily in the West African region. The Hausa women of Nigeria are traditionally the basket weavers and use these baskets for storage and decoration. This handmade basket from Amatuli is made from leather and grass, and is decorated with Cowrie shells.
